THE RIVER

I visit many rivers throughout Colorado to fly fish, but sometimes the best rivers and streams are the ones closest to home. Bear Creek is one of these that I really enjoy visiting. Not only to fish, but to simply explore. The trees, wildlife and the water. It’s a place for my family and myself to enjoy. We are a busy family just like everyone else so the enjoyment of a river holds a special place in our hearts. My days and weeks lately have been filled with illustration projects so the chance to unwind and photograph is always appreciated.

This particular creek is a tributary of the S. Platte and in higher regions holds rainbow and brown trout. If you venture up to about 9k ft. it holds the beautiful brook trout as well. It is also home to many birds such as nuthatch, chickadees, woodpeckers and many other songbirds.
